One way for us to stay up-to-date is to offer students thesis projects, something that has also been a success factor for us in developing new models and methods. The work takes place in close collaboration with some of our clients.

Suggested Thesis Topics

1. Stochastic Optimization for Supply Chain Management under Uncertainty
Explore how machine learning can be combined with stochastic programming to
optimize supply chain decisions, such as inventory management or transportation, under uncertainty. Your objective is to create a stochastic optimization model for supply-chain management that accounts for unpredictable demand and supply variability.

2. Data-driven Decision Support Systems for Industrial Process Optimization
Combine machine learning with optimization techniques to create a decision-making tool that can improve process efficiency, reduce costs, and anticipate future operational challenges. Your objective is to build a decision support system that uses historical and real-time data to provide actionable recommendations for industrial process control.

What We Are Looking For

We seek motivated individuals with the following general qualifications:

• A Master’s student with most courses completed and good grades
• Good knowledge of at least one of the following subjects: automatic control,
  optimization methods, reinforcement learning, statistical machine learning,
  probabilistic machine learning, mathematical modelling
• Good knowledge in the pre-requisites of each project
• Excellent written and spoken English
